This Privacy Policy explains how Sinai.ai Inc. ("Sinai," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use the Sinai AI Platform, including our websites and apps (the "Service"). It also describes the choices and rights available to you. Our approach in one paragraph
Reading is personal. The Service is built so that what you read, listen to, ask, and write stays private to you: we do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for targeted advertising, and we share only aggregated, anonymized statistics with the publishers whose works appear on the Platform.
2- Information We Collect
These Terms govern your access to and use of the Platform, including our websites, mobile and desktop applications, and all content, software, and services made available through them (collectively, the "Service"). Certain features may be subject to additional posted terms (for example, promotional offers or beta features). If additional terms conflict with these Terms, the additional terms control for that feature.
Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information about you. The Privacy Policy is a separate statement of our practices and is not a part of these Terms, but we encourage you to read it before using the Service.
Information you provide:
Account information: your name, email address, password, and year of birth (to confirm eligibility);
Payment information: handled by our payment processors; we receive confirmation of payment, your plan, and limited card details (such as card type and last four digits), but we do not store full card numbers;
AI interactions and library content: your questions to the AI Assistant and its responses, and your notes, highlights, bookmarks, and other content you create in the Service (together, "your AI interactions and library content");
Communications: messages you send us, such as support requests and survey responses.
Information we collect automatically:
Usage and engagement data: the works you open, pages viewed, audio minutes played, features used, session times, and similar activity on the Service;
Device and technical data: IP address, device and browser type, operating system, app version, language and region settings, identifiers assigned to your device, and approximate (city-level) location derived from IP address for territory and tax purposes;
Cookies and similar technologies: as described in Section 6.
We do not seek to collect sensitive categories of personal information (such as precise geolocation, health data, or biometric identifiers), and we ask that you not include sensitive information in your AI Assistant prompts or notes.
To operate the Service: maintain your account and library, deliver Content, generate AI Assistant responses, process payments, and provide support;
To personalize your experience, such as recommendations and picking up where you left off;
To improve the Service and develop features, including using data to train and improve Sinai's own AI models, as described in Section 3;
To protect the Service and its content: detect, investigate, and prevent unauthorized access, scraping, content extraction, credential sharing, fraud, and other abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service and the content-protection commitments we make to publishers;
To communicate with you: service messages (such as receipts, renewal reminders, and security notices), and, with your consent where required, marketing messages you can opt out of at any time;
To comply with law: meet legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations, and establish and defend legal claims.
Your AI interactions, library content, and personal information are private to your account. We do not share them with publishers, advertisers, or other third parties, and we do not use them for advertising. Our personnel access them only as necessary to provide the Service to you (for example, to troubleshoot a problem you report), to maintain the security and integrity of the Platform, or as required by law.
Strict Account Isolation for AI Models
We do not use your AI Assistant interactions, prompts, voice inputs, or personal information to train, fine-tune, or improve global or shared AI models that serve other users or the broader Platform. Any contextual adaptation, memory, or personalization derived from your AI interactions is restricted strictly to your individual account and is used solely to enhance your own personal reading and learning experience. Our AI models are proprietary to Sinai and confined to the Platform: we do not sell, license, or expose your data to third parties for their model training, and we do not use third parties' general-purpose models in ways that grant them rights to your data.
Publishers and rights holders: only aggregated, anonymized statistics (for example, total pages read or audio minutes streamed for a title). We do not share information that identifies you with publishers without your consent, unless required by law.
Service providers: companies that host our infrastructure, process payments, deliver emails, and provide analytics, under contracts that limit their use of your information to providing services to us.
Legal and safety: to comply with law or legal process; to enforce our Terms of Service, including investigating piracy, unauthorized extraction, or account abuse; and to protect the rights, property, and safety of Sinai, our users, our publishing partners, and the public.
Corporate transactions: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy's commitments.
With your direction or consent: for example, if you ask us to share something.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising. Because we do not sell or share personal information in those senses, there is no need to opt out; if our practices ever change, we will update this Policy, provide any required notice and opt-out mechanisms, and honor recognized universal opt-out preference signals (such as Global Privacy Control) as required by law.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: (a) know and access the personal information we hold about you, including in a portable format; (b) correct inaccurate information; (c) delete your information; (d) opt out of any sale, sharing for targeted advertising, or certain profiling (as noted above, we do not engage in these); and (e) not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Where an applicable law provides an appeal process, you may appeal a decision we make on your request.
How to exercise
To exercise these rights, use the tools in your account settings or contact us at support@sinai.ai We will verify your request using your account email or other reasonable means, and we will respond within the time required by law. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows; we may ask the agent for proof of authorization and verify your identity directly.
Everyday controls
You can update account information in settings, unsubscribe from marketing emails via the link in each message, adjust app notification settings on your device, and delete individual notes, highlights, and AI Assistant conversations from your library at any time.
We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to operate the Service (such as sign-in and security), to remember your preferences, and to understand how the Service is used so we can improve it. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling necessary cookies may affect the Service. Where consent for non-essential cookies is required by your jurisdiction, we will ask for it.
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed for the purposes above. If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your personal information within 30 days, except where we must retain it to comply with legal obligations (such as tax and accounting rules), resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or investigate ongoing abuse, in which case we retain only what is needed for those purposes. AI interaction logs older than 3 months are deleted or de-identified on a rolling basis. Aggregated, anonymized data that no longer identifies you may be retained without time limit.
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, monitoring, and the same digital rights management and platform-security architecture that protects Content on the Platform. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and regulators as required by applicable law.
10- Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Accounts may be created only by users 18 or older; teens 13 to 17 may use the Service only through an account managed and supervised by a parent or legal guardian. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us at support@sinai.ai and we will delete it. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising a teen's use of the Service under their account.
The Service is operated from the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction. If we offer the Service in jurisdictions requiring additional safeguards or disclosures (for example, the EEA, the United Kingdom, or the United Arab Emirates), we will provide any required supplemental notices and implement appropriate transfer safeguards.
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or prominent in-app notice before the changes take effect. The "Last Updated" date above shows when this Policy was last revised. Changes will not retroactively reduce the protections applied to information collected under an earlier version without your consent.
